The LG manufactured Nexus 5 is undoubtedly the most famous nexus smartphone till date, it opened the gateway for Google to expand the nexus range to more countries when people showed great interest in it. The main reason behind the Nexus 5’s success isn’t limited at all, there are quite a few qualities that this smartphone had which really made it the what it is, a landmark for the Nexus community. LG and Google made it clear that a Powerful smartphone doesn’t have to be very expensive, but a balance of many aspects and hence we think that the Nexus 5 might be worthy device to get Android N and make history in terms of Android updates.
The Nexus 5 has handled Lollipop 5.0 and Marshmallow 6.0 very well.
There is no denying that the Nexus 5 has aged well, it started it’s journey with Android Kitkat and has come to the third major android version since then. With lollipop things hit a snag for android in terms of major changes and things were turned towards optimizing an already feature rich operating system, we aren’t saying that there was no addition of features but the focus was on improving what we already love rather than creating something new. The material design made a great effort to improve overall functionality while major software changes like App permissions changed how secure we felt using an android device. Small improvements have been frequent in the past updates, which tells us how hard Google is trying to build a feature rich OS alongside Apple grade optimizations. Considering that Google wants to make android more optimized than ever with Android N the best way to win the trust of the loyal android and nexus fans will be to provide this update to a well aged device which can run it like it’s made for it, which in this case will be the Nexus 5.
